SCBWI Gauteng thoroughly enjoyed meeting Maryanne and Shayle Bester at the event on 28 February at Sandton Public Library.
Maryanne and Shayle spoke about writing and illustrating their books for children, namely Three friends and a taxi, The cool Nguni (for which they received the Exclusive Books IBBY award) and The long trousers. They also read the texts of the first two books to the delighted audience.
